Jackson State cruises past NAIA's Blue Mountain, 75-37

JACKSON, Miss. (AP) Paris Collins scored a career-high 27 points and Jackson State cruised to a 75-37 victory over Blue Mountain of the NAIA on Saturday night.

The Tigers (4-6) bounced back from a 95-88 double-overtime loss at Louisiana Tech on Dec. 4.

Collins was 11 of 19 from the field and had five 3-pointers. Kaven Bernard had 16 points and grabbed a career-best 12 rebounds for Jackson State. Troy Stancil added 14 points, and Yettra Specks chipped in five points with a career-high eight assists.

Dominic Hudson scored eight points and CJ Barnes had seven to lead Blue Mountain.

Chase Brittingham made a layup to pull Blue Mountain to 29-14 with 6:17 left in the first half. The Toppers did not score again until Hudson made a pair of free throws with 29 seconds left in the period, and the Tigers led 41-16 at halftime.
