BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) Chris Cokley tied a career-high with 25 points, including a key 3-point play with 44 seconds left, to lead UAB past Seattle for a 79-73 win on Sunday.

Robert Brown added 18 points, and William Lee and Denzell Watts had 11 apiece for UAB (6-3), which went 30 of 60 from the field and got 22 assists.

The Blazers took the lead for good during an 11-0 burst in the first half. Watts' 3-pointer sparked the run, which also included a pair of buckets from Dirk Williams, and made it 19-12. UAB carried a 37-24 advantage into the break but had to hold off a second-half Seattle surge that cut the gap to 72-71 on Manroop Clair's 3-pointer with 1:03 to play.

After Cokley put UAB up 75-71, Hakeem Baxter and Nick Norton sealed it with four free throws.

Clair and William Powell led Seattle (3-6) with 15 points apiece.
