Duke senior Amile Jefferson will be out indefinitely after injuring his foot, the school announced Monday.

Duke senior Amile Jefferson will be out indefinitely after injuring his foot, the school announced Monday

The injury means Jefferson will miss his first game since the start of his sophomore season.

Jefferson is a team captain for the second time this season and is averaging 11.4 points and 10.3 rebounds per game. Only Jefferson, Matt Jones and Marshall Plumlee have started each of Duke’s nine game this season. Jefferson is the Blue Devils’ leading rebounder, averaging 3.9 more boards per game than Plumlee.

Duke is 8–1 and takes on Georgia Southern at home on Tuesday. The Blue Devils open conference play on Jan. 2 against Boston College.
