Texas A&M freshman power forward Elijah Thomas will seek a transfer from the school just nine games into his first season with the team, according to ESPN.

Thomas came to College Station as a highly-touted recruit, ranked by Scout.com as the No. 50 overall player for the class of 2015.

The big man out of Lancaster High School in Lancaster, Texas, was part of a six player recruiting class that included three other top-100 players — Tyler Davis (No. 33), D.J. Hogg (No. 38) and Kubie Eubanks (No. 66).

Thomas has averaged 9.5 minutes this season, tallying 3.8 points, 2.5 rebounds and one block a game. He is currently ninth on the team in points, behind fellow freshman Davis, Hogg and Admon Gilder.

“I love the staff and the school," Thomas told ESPN. "But I just feel as though it's best for me to get a fresh start somewhere else.”

Texas A&M (8–2) is currently No. 24 in the AP poll.
