Indiana State beats Illinois-Springfield 75-60

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (AP) Devonte Brown scored 20 points and grabbed a career-high 10 rebounds and Indiana State beat Division II Illinois-Springfield 75-60 on Wednesday night.

Sycamores coach Greg Lansing needs two more wins to become the sixth head coach in school history with at least 100 victories.

Matt Van Scyoc scored 20 points on 8-of-8 shooting, including all four of his four 3-point attempts, for Indiana State (4-6). Everett Clemons had five assists and grabbed 11 rebounds, and the Sycamores outrebounded the Prairie Stars 49-29, scoring 11 second-chance points on 12 offensive rebounds.

Up 36-27 at halftime, Van Scyoc hit back-to-back 3s and the Sycamores pulled ahead 46-31 and later went on a 10-4 run. Brenton Scott kicked off a 13-3 run with two free throws and a 3-pointer and Indiana State was up 73-57 with 2:02 left.

Indiana State shot 9 of 20 (45 percent) from beyond the 3-point arc.

Richard Freeman led Illinois-Springfield with 11 points.
