St. John’s suffered its second straight loss, falling to New Jersey Institute of Technology 83–74 on Sunday. The Red Storm have now dropped two straight games after losing to Incarnate Word 73–51 on Friday. 

The Highlanders led at halftime 39–35. St. John’s was able to go a on a 12–5 run early in the second half, but the NJIT would later respond with a 15–0 run. NJIT gaurd Damon Lynn finished with 32 points and five three-pointers. 

NJIT is no stranger to winning against larger programs, having defeatedMichigan 72–70 in Ann Arbor last December. The Highlanders ended last season with a 68–61 loss to Northern Arizona in the semifinal of the CIT. 

The Highlanders and St. Johns’s are now both 7–5 this season.
