Lane Kiffin expects to stay on as Alabama OC next season
Lane Kiffin hopes to spend a third season as the offensive coordinator for Alabama, according to comments the former USC coach made at a media session for the Cotton Bowl Classic.
Kiffin and head coach Nick Saban are currently preparing for their second consecutive College Football Playoff appearance, and the assistant says he is looking forward to the challenges of the 2016 season in Tuscaloosa, according to ESPN.
“I'd love to be back,” Kiffin said. “We'll have a new set of challenges with a third year of a new quarterback and replacing a Heisman Trophy winner, just as we did with a Biletnikoff winner the year before, and some great returning players to work with. I'd be real excited about that.”

After the 40-year-old’s first season with the Crimson Tide in 2014, he was offered the offensive coordinator’s position with the 49ers, but said he felt he had unfinished business after the team lost to Ohio State in the semifinals of the playoffs.
In 2015 the Alabama offense averaged 34.1 points per game, thanks in large part to a Heisman trophy winning season from running back Derrick Henry who racked up 1,986 yards in Kiffin’s offense.
