Stewart's key 3s help Portland St. beat CS Fullerton 89-82

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) Donivine Stewart scored a season-high 17 points and made key 3-pointers in the second half to help Portland State pull away and beat Cal State Fullerton 89-82 Tuesday night and snap a five-game losing streak.

Stewart was 6 of 8 from the field with three 3-pointers and five assists. Isaiah Pineiro scored 21 points to lead Portland State (4-7).

Tre Coggins scored 23 points and Malcolm Brooks had 22 for Cal State Fullerton (6-6), which has lost five straight.

Brooks converted a 3-point play to pull Cal State Fullerton to 57-56 with nine minutes remaining. Stewart made two 3-pointers as part of a 12-1 surge to give the Vikings a 69-57 lead with 3:30 left.

A 7-1 spurt pulled the Titans to 82-77 with 39 seconds to go. The Vikings made 5 of 6 free throws and Pineiro had a dunk to seal it.
