Jacksonville holds off Bethune-Cookman 74-70

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) Kori Babineaux scored 20 points, Marcel White added 19 with 10 rebounds, and Jacksonville held off a late one-man run by Bethune-Cookman's Jordan Potts to win 74-70 on Thursday.

Antwon Clayton scored 12 points and had three blocks for the Dolphins (7-8), who led 31-25 at halftime and have won seven straight.

White and Darien Fernandez each hit back-to-back 3-pointers and the Dolphins pulled away 60-43 with 8:29 to play. But Potts scored 19-straight points for the Wildcats, including four consecutive 3-pointers, to pull Bethune-Cookman within four points with nine seconds left. Potts missed a 3 with one second left and time ran out.

Jacksonville outshot the Wildcats 48 percent to 38 and made 8 of 16 3-pointers.

Potts had 26 points with 6 of 11 3-pointers for the Wildcats (4-10), who have lost six straight. Ricky Johnson added 11 points and Quinton Forrest 10. LaRon Smith had five blocks.
