Thomas hits game-winner; Kent State edges NC A&T 61-60

GREENSBORO, N.C. (AP) Kellon Thomas dribbled around the top of the key, cut into the lane and hit a go-ahead floater with 21 seconds left to give Kent State a 61-60 victory over North Carolina A&T on Wednesday.

NC A&T took a 60-59 lead with 1:21 left on two free throws by Ahmad Abdullah.

After Thomas' key basket, Abdullah missed a contested jumper with four seconds left and Kent State ran down the loose ball as time expired.

Thomas finished with 14 points for Kent State (8-4). Xavier Pollard added 11 points and Jimmy Hall had 10.

Ede Egharevba led NC A&T (5-10) with 15 points and Joshea Singleton added 14 on 7-of-7 shooting from the line. The Aggies scored 22 points off of Kent State's 15 turnovers.

Egharevba missed a 3-pointer for a two-possession lead with 31 seconds left.
