High Point knocks off Radford 77-60 in Big South contest

HIGH POINT, N.C. (AP) Josh Brown and Jorge Perez-Laham scored 14 points each, Brown with 10 rebounds, and High Point broke away after halftime to beat Radford 77-60 Thursday night.

After a low-scoring first half, Radford had come within 38-34 when Rashun Davis made three free throws after being fouled on a 3-point attempt. But the Highlanders scored just two more points over the next seven minutes while High Point extended the lead to 20, 56-36, with 11:12 to play.

Anthony Lindauer added 13 points for the Panthers (10-4, 3-0 Big South).

High Point shot 50 percent from the field (31-62) with 19 assists on the 31 field goals and just six turnovers. The Panthers also notched nine steals as Radford committed 16 turnovers. High Point shot 63 percent in the second half.

Cameron Jones led Radford (8-7, 1-2) with 18 points. Justin Cousin added 12 points, and Brandon Holcomb 11 with eight rebounds.
