Four-star defensive end Brandon Bowen has committed to Baylor, he announced on Twitter on Friday.

Bowen, a Texas native, is Scout.com’s No. 15 defensive end in the class of 2016. Bowen’s father is former MLB pitcher Ryan Bowen, while his uncle is three-time NBA champion Bruce Bowen, who played for the San Antonio Spurs from 2001–2009.

“Words can’t describe how excited I am to be a Baylor bear,” Bowen said on Twitter.

The 6'5'', 217-pound Bowen had offers from Oregon, Oklahoma, TCU, Arizona State, as well as several other schools. In his sophomore year, he played at defensive end and wide receiver on offense and caught 10 passes for 136 yards and one touchdown.
