Murray State beats Morehead State 62-57 in OVC opener

MURRAY, Ky. (AP) Wayne Langston scored 13 points and grabbed 11 rebounds and Murray State beat Morehead State 62-57 in an Ohio Valley Conference opener on Saturday.

Langston posted his fourth double-double this season while Bryce Jones added 14 points and Jeffery Moss 12.

Corban Collins led Morehead State with 17 points. Brent Arrington added 12.

The lead changed hands 15 times and the game was tied 13 times.

A 7-1 run capped by a Jones 3-pointer gave the Racers a 57-50 lead with 2:36 left. The Eagles cut it to three twice, the last time on Collins' 3-pointer with two seconds left but Moss made a pair of free throws to end it.

Jones scored six straight points in a 10-4 run near the end of the first half as Murray State took a 29-23 lead at the break.

The Racers made 18 of 23 free throws, the Eagles 9 of 14.
