Air Force uses free-throw line to beat San Jose State 64-57

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) Trevor Lyons scored 22- half coming from the free-throw line- to help Air Force hold off a late San Jan Jose St. rally 64-57 on Saturday.

Air Force (10-4, 1-0 Mountain West Conference) led 56-35 with 7:13 to play. Hayden Graham's 3-pointer with 8:32 left marked the Falcons' final field goal.

Air Force shot 12 of 14 from the free-throw line after Graham's 3, and the Falcons finished 25 for 30 from the line.

Princeton Onwas' layup with 1:23 left capped an 18-2 run and cut Air Force's lead to 58-53, but San Jose State (5-9, 0-2) could get no closer.

With a five-point lead, Graham missed two free throws with 40 seconds left, but the Spartans' Cody Schwartz missed a 3 with 30 seconds left and San Jose State was forced to foul.

Lyons made four free throws and Kyle Broekhuis made two in the final 30 seconds.

Onwas led the Spartans with 19 points.
