LSU coach: TE Dillon Gordon stabbed during bar fight

BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) LSU coach Les Miles says senior tight end Dillon Gordon was injured during what Baton Rouge police have described as a fight involving a stabbing in a bar near campus.

Miles says Dillon needed did not have life-threatening injuries and is expected to recover fully.

Baton Rouge police spokesman Don Coppola says investigators are trying to identify a suspect who fled the scene after stabbing his victim multiple times. Police have not identified Gordon as the victim, but Miles has.

Gordon has posted the message, ''Thank you Lord it just wasn't my time,'' on a social media account.

Gordon has started since 2013, but missed the last six games of this season because of a ruptured Achilles tendon.

Primarily a blocker, Gordon made one catch for 8 yards this season.
