Former Penn guard Tony Hicks is set to transfer to Louisville, Gary DeCesare, Hicks’ former high school coach, told Scout.com. Hicks also announced his decision on Twitter Tuesday.

“He’s going to graduate from Penn and then he’s going to Louisville,” DeCesare said.

Hicks left Penn’s program before the start of the 2015–16 season. He led the team in scoring during his sophomore and junior seasons and was set to be captain his senior year. Hicks will have one year of eligibility with the Cardinals.

In his last season at Penn, Hicks averaged 13.2 points and scored his 1000th point as a Quaker.

Hicks’s decision to leave the Penn program came after the firing of head coach Jerome Allen. Former Boston College coach Steve Donahue stepped in to replace Allen.

Without Hicks, Penn has a record of 6–7 as the team heads into its Ivy League season opener against Princeton Saturday.

Hicks was in attendance at Louisville’s 65–57 victory over Wake Forest on Sunday. The Cardinals have a 12–2 record to start the season.
