Smallwood led the Big 12 conference in rushing with 1,519 yards as a junior.
West Virginia RB Wendell Smallwood has declared for the NFL draft, he announced on Twitter.
Smallwood wrote the following letter to West Virginia fans:
Smallwood finished the season atop the Big 12 conference in rushing with 1,519 yards as a junior. He also recorded nine touchdowns on 238 carries.
West Virginia finished the season 7–5 before defeating the Arizona State Sun Devils 43–42 in the Cactus Bowl on Jan. 2.
