The Clemson Tigers and Alabama Crimson Tide will face off in the national title game on Monday night at the University of Phoenix Stadium.

Clemson defeated Oklahoma 37–17 in the College Football Playoff semifinal at the Orange Bowl. Running back Wayne Gallman carried the ball 26 times, rushing for 150 yards and two touchdowns against the Sooners. The Tigers remain undefeated this season, and could record win No. 15 with a victory over Alabama. Clemson last played for a national title 34 years ago.

Alabama beat Michigan State 38–0 on New Year’s Eve at the Cotton Bowl. The Crimson Tide will look for their fourth national title under head coach Nick Saban. Quarterback Jake Coker completed 25 of 30 passes, throwing for 262 yards and two touchdowns against the Spartans.

Clemson and Alabama last played each other in 2008, with the Crimson Tide winning 34–10.
