Walker hits 6 3s, Valparaiso beats Oakland 84-67

ROCHESTER, Mich. (AP) Tevonn Walker made 6 of 8 3-point shots with 24 points and seven rebounds to help Valparaiso beat Oakland 84-67 on Friday night.

Alec Peters added 15 points and 11 rebounds and Vashil Fernandez had nine points and 12 rebounds. The Crusaders (12-3, 2-0 Horizon) have won six of seven.

Valparaiso used a 10-0 run to lead 49-38 on Walker's 3-pointer with 15:20 left. Oakland (9-7, 1-2) had a 7-2 spurt to get back within six but Valparaiso answered with an identical run and steadily pulled away from there.

The Golden Grizzlies kept it tight in the first half and had their last lead at 32-30 on Nick Daniels' pair of free throws with 2:16 left. Valparaiso closed the half of a 7-2 run to lead 37-34.

Kahlil Felder led Oakland with 20 points on 8-of-28 shooting. Jalen Hayes added 13, Max Hooper 12 and Sherron Dorsey-Walker 11.
