Lopez leads Montana to 77-58 win over Sacramento State

MISSOULA, Mont. (AP) Jack Lopez had a career-high 21 points as Montana had a strong second half to dominate Sacramento State 77-58 in Big Sky Conference action on Saturday night.

Lopez, who scored 15 in the second half, nailed 5 of 8 from beyond the arc and made 8 of 12 field goal attempts. Walter Wright made three from long range for 16 points and dished out a career-high 12 assists, and Martin Breunig added 15 points while grabbing 16 rebounds for Montana (9-6, 4-0), which has won five straight.

The Grizzles never trailed and had a 37-28 lead at the break. They took command when Wright nailed a trey and Lopez followed with two straight 3-pointers to give Montana a 61-42 advantage with 11:53 remaining.

Jeff Wu led the Hornets (7-7, 0-3) with 13 points. Justin Strings made 5 of 9 from the floor for 12.
