Clemson cornerback Mackensie Alexander is a game-time decision for the College Football Playoff championship game against Alabama due to a hamstring injury, reports ESPN’s Joe Schad.

Marty Smith of ESPN, who spoke with Alexander via text message, also reports that the Tigers will evaluate Alexander during warm-ups to determine whether or not the star cornerback will play.

Alexander left Clemson’s Orange Bowl game against Oklahoma on Dec. 31 with cramping in his hamstring.

The redshirt sophomore has 21 tackles and five pass breakups this season.

Clemson defensive end Shaq Lawson is battling a knee injury, which is not good news for the Tigers as they go up against Alabama wide receiver Calvin Ridley.
