Siena rides Bisping, Ogunyemi to 64-52 win over Quinnipiac

HAMDEN, Conn. (AP) Brett Bisping scored a jumpshot and a dunk on consecutive possessions and Javion Ogunyemi blocked a career-best eight shots as Siena broke away late in the game to defeat Quinnipiac 64-52 Friday night.

Siena (11-6, 4-2 Metro Atlantic) blocked 13 shots, snared 52 rebounds and held Quinnipiac to 26-percent shooting. The Saints were led by 18 points from Bisping, who played through back spasms, and 15 from Nico Clareth.

Quinnipiac (5-10, 2-4) made up a 27-21 halftime gap to lead 38-32 with 13 minutes left. The game remained close until Bisping scored with 4:02 left, pushing the lead to 53-50.

Ogunyemi blocked Chaise Daniels to get the ball right back and Bisping dunked for a 55-50 lead with 3:40 to go, starting a 13-2 run to end the game.

Quinnipiac didn't score for the last two minutes. Giovanni McLean led the Bobcats with 14 points, Daniel Harris added 13 and Daniels 10.
