Northern Kentucky pulls away from Oakland 90-73

ROCHESTER, Mich. (AP) Jalen Billups had 22 points and eight rebounds, Tyler White added 20 points and made five 3-pointers, and Northern Kentucky pulled away late to beat Oakland 90-73 on Tuesday night.

Drew McDonald scored 18 points and grabbed 11 rebounds, Lavone Holland II added 16 points, and the Norse (6-11, 2-4 Horizon) outrebounded Oakland 42-27 and shot 53 percent from the field.

Up 41-39 at halftime, the Norse opened the second half with a 14-5 run in which McDonald scored five points and led by 12 with 12:29 left.

Kahlil Felder pulled Oakland within 67-60 with a putback with 6:09 to go, and Jalen Hayes' two free throws made it 67-62, but the Golden Grizzlies got no closer.

Holland hit two 3s amid a 12-4 run and the Norse pulled away 79-66 and finished with an 11-4 run.

Felder led Oakland (11-8, 3-3) with 25 points and Hayes added 20. Max Hooper, who entered the game ranked 10th in the nation with 62 made 3-pointers, was just 1 of 6 from distance. Hooper has attempted 144 shots this season - all from 3-point range.
