DENTON, Texas (AP) Alabama backup quarterback Alec Morris has transferred to North Texas, where he will be eligible to play immediately for new coach Seth Littrell.

The Mean Green also said Tuesday that defensive tackle Bryce English has transferred from Kansas State.

Morris was the third-string quarterback and appeared in seven games the past two seasons for the Crimson Tide, who won the national championship earlier this month. As a graduate student, he can play next season as a senior at North Texas.

English is hoping to gain eligibility for the 2016 season as a redshirt freshman.

Both players are from Texas. Morris played at Allen High School, and English is from DeSoto. English's father, Lee, was a four-year letterman as a running back at North Texas from 1978-81.
