DOVER, Del. (AP) James Daniel III scored 23 points, while Tyler Stone and Marcel Boyd both had double-doubles to help Howard beat Delaware State 71-67 Wednesday.

On Jan. 11, the game was suspended due to mechanical issues with Howard leading the Hornets 41-38 and 15:41 to play.

Stone finished with 18 points and 10 rebounds and Boyd added 13 and 10 for Howard (9-1, 3-1 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference). The duo combined to grab 12 offensive boards, equaling Delaware State's team total.

Dana Raysor hit a 3 to give the Hornets (1-17, 0-4) a 54-51 lead, but Daniel answered with a 3-pointer of his own to spark a 15-4 run that was capped by two free throws by Boyd and put Howard up eight with 1:33 to play.

Todd Hughes made a pair of foul shots to cut Delaware State's deficit to 67-73 with 14 seconds left, but Stone made 4 of 4 free throws from there to seal it.

DeAndre Haywood led the Hornets with 23 points. Devin Morgan, Delaware State's leading scorer at 10.1 per game, finished with three points on 1-of-11 shooting.
