(STATS) - The next step for North Carolina Central is a spot in the postseason.

The Eagles have earned a share of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference title in each of coach Jerry Mack's first two seasons, but haven't won a tiebreaker either time to advance past the regular season.

Still, the Eagles have been thrilled by the success, including an 8-3 record in 2015 to set their high for wins since joining Division I in 2007.

A similar schedule was announced for 2016 on Thursday.

Only one of the first five games are at home, but the Eagles hope season-opening trips to FBS programs Duke (Sept. 3) and Western Michigan (Sept. 10) will get them ready for the race in the MEAC, whose champion will advance to the Celebration Bowl against the Southwestern Athletic Conference champ.
