UTEP rolls over Florida Atlantic 71-56

EL PASO, Texas (AP) Hooper Vint and Omega Harris scored 19 points apiece as UTEP beat Florida Atlantic 71-56 on Thursday night to snap a three-game losing skid.

Vint, who finished a point short of his career high, had 12 in the second half. Harris hit 3 of 4 from long range and made all six free-throw attempts. Lee Moore added nine points and dished out eight assists for UTEP, which had won four consecutive games before dropping three straight.

The Miners (11-8, 3-3 Conference USA) sprinted to a 15-0 lead and was up 40-20 at the break. The Owls charged back in the second half to cut the margin to 46-37 at the 14:33 mark. Vint hit two straight jumpers to start a 21-2 run and the Miners had their biggest lead, 67-39, with 7:00 left.

Jeantal Cylla hit 5 of 6 from long range for 25 points to lead Florida Atlantic (4-15, 2-4).
