Lynn paces NJIT over Jacksonville 83-63

NEWARK, N.J. (AP) Damon Lynn scored 20 points with seven assists and New Jersey Institute of Technology topped Jacksonville 83-63 on Thursday night.

Lynn was 7 of 13 from the floor with five 3-pointers for the Highlanders (11-9, 2-2 Atlantic Sun). Ky Howard and Rob Ukawuba both scored 14 points, while Terrence Smith and Tim Coleman added 10 apiece. Coleman grabbed 10 rebounds. NJIT had 24 assists on 32 made baskets and shot nearly 51 percent.

Jacksonville (10-11, 2-2) was led by Marcel White with 19 points. J.R. Holder scored 12 points and Kori Babineaux added 10 points and seven boards. The Dolphins were outrebounded 42-33.

NJIT opened a 10-point lead midway through the first half, as Jacksonville had a four-minute scoreless stretch, and the Highlanders led 32-26 at intermission.

A 17-0 run early in the second - including five consecutive made 3-pointers, three from Lynn - busted the game wide open.
