Central Michigan pulls away from Ohio, 72-49

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. (AP) Braylon Rayson and Luke Meyer each scored 14 points and Central Michigan pulled away from Ohio in the second half to earn a 72-49 win on Saturday.

Rayson added seven rebounds and Meyer had six. Chris Fowler finished with 11 points and nine assists for Central Michigan (10-9, 3-3 MAC), which shot 50.8 percent from the field while holding Ohio to a season-low 49 points on 37.3 percent shooting and 3 of 15 from 3-point range.

John Simons made a layup early in the second half which gave the Chippewas a double digit lead. Central Michigan continued to maintain a double figure lead through much of the second half. A Fowler jumper with 2:38 left made the lead 19, and a Corey Redman 3 on the final possession pushed it to 72-49.

Antonio Campbell scored 17 points and pulled down 12 rebounds for Ohio (11-7, 2-4).
