Alcorn State beats Alabama A&M 63-58

LORMAN, Miss. (AP) Octavius Brown scored 15 points and grabbed five rebounds as Alcorn State notched its fourth-straight win, beating Alabama A&M 63-58 on Saturday night.

Brown finished with 7-of-17 shooting from the field for the Braves (7-11, 5-2 Southwestern Athletic Conference). Tamarcio Wilson and Devonte Hampton scored 13 points apiece, Patrick Onwenu had 10 points and Marquis Vance led the team with 10 rebounds.

Alabama A&M led 31-26 at the break but Alcorn State surged to life in the second half, starting with a dunk by Brown less than two minutes in and followed by a 3-pointer by Wilson, another by Hampton and a second dunk by Brown to put the Braves on top 36-31 with 17:26 to play. Alcorn State led the rest of the way.

Ladarius Tabb had 13 points and seven rebounds for the Bulldogs (6-9, 2-4).
