Scott nets 24 points, Indiana State tops Evansville 82-65

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (AP) Brenton Scott and Devonte Brown scored 24 points apiece and Indiana State knocked off Evansville 82-65 on Sunday.

Scott was 9 of 14 from the field and 6 of 9 from beyond the arc for the Sycamores (11-9, 5-3 Missouri Valley). Brown hit three 3-pointers, grabbed five rebounds and had six assists. Indiana State shot over 47 percent and made 14 of 23 (61 percent) on 3-point attempts.

Evansville (17-4, 6-2) was led by D.J. Balentine with 20 points. Jaylon Brown and Adam Wing both had 13 points, while Egidijus Mockevicius added 10 points and 13 rebounds.

Indiana State scored the first eight points of the game, and closed the first half with a 15-2 run to lead 45-31 at the break.

Evansville closed to within nine several times early in the second half, but an 8-2 spurt by the Sycamores made it 73-55 with 3:55 left.
