Radford beats Gardner-Webb 69-59 to avenge road loss

RADFORD, Va. (AP) Cameron Jones scored 17 points and had seven rebounds to lead Radford to a 69-59 victory over Gardner-Webb on Sunday.

The victory avenged a 22-point loss at Gardner-Webb two weeks ago and gave the Highlanders (12-9, 5-4 Big South) their fifth straight conference home victory.

The Runnin' Bulldogs (10-11, 5-4) have dropped three straight.

YaYa Anderson scored 13 points and had seven rebounds, and Kion Brown scored 13 points. Rashun Davis had 10 points and three rebounds, giving him 300 career boards.

Gardner-Webb's Tyrell Nelson posted his Big South-leading ninth double-double with 17 points and 13 rebounds. Laquincy Rideau added 13 points. Harold McBride, who had 24 points in the win over Radford, scored five.

Jones' 3-pointer with 5:42 left put Radford up 61-55. Four free throws by Taj Owens and Anderson in the final minute sealed the win.

A 3-pointer by Davis gave Radford a 36-31 halftime lead.
