Oklahoma remains No. 1, North Carolina No. 2 in AP poll

The Oklahoma Sooners remain No. 1 in the AP Top 25 college basketball poll.

The Oklahoma Sooners remain No. 1 in this week’s AP Top 25 college basketball poll, despite falling 82–77 to the Iowa State Cyclones last Monday. 

The Sooners (16–2) received 36 first place votes, while the North Carolina Tar Heels (18–2) remain No. 2 after receiving 29 votes.

With the third spot in the poll, the Iowa Hawkeyes (16–3) received their highest ranking since 1987, after holding down the No. 9 position last week. The Hawkeyes are followed by Kansas (16–3), Texas A&M (17–2), Villanova (17–3), Xavier (17–2), Maryland (17–3), West Virginia (16–3) and Providence (17–3) to round out the top 10.
