Four-star offensive tackle Royce Newman switched his commitment from Missouri to Ole Miss, he announced on Twitter on Monday.

Newman had been committed to the Tigers since June.

According to Scout.com, the Nashville, Ill. native is the class of 2016’s 14th-ranked offensive tackle in the country and No. 1 player in Illinois at his position.

Along with Ole Miss and Missouri, Newman also received offers from NC State, Nebraska, Georgia, Illinois and Penn State.

Newman switched his commitment on the same day the Rebels nabbed four-star wide receiver Tre Nixon.

Ole Miss finished the 2015 season with a 10–3 record after defeating the Oklahoma State Cowboys at the Sugar Bowl on Jan. 1.
