Loyola (MD) beats Holy Cross 71-54

WORCESTER, Mass. (AP) Jarred Jones scored 22 points with eight rebounds and four steals as Loyola (MD) beat Holy Cross 71-54 on Wednesday night, snapping a four-game slide.

Jones finished with 10-of-14 shooting from the field for the Greyhounds (5-14, 4-4 Patriot League). Andre Walker added 15 points and four rebounds and Franz Rassman had 10 points and five rebounds. The team averaged 57.7 percent shooting from the field, 64.3 percent from the line and had a 35-28 rebounding edge over Holy Cross.

The Greyhounds went ahead 20-14 on a Cam Gregory layup with 9:17 to go in the first half on their way to a 39-24 lead at the break.

Loyola (MD) led throughout the second half and Jones scored six points as part of a 12-7 run midway that extended the Greyhounds lead to 60-49 with 7:25 remaining.

Karl Charles led the Crusaders (8-12, 3-6) with 17 points and eight rebounds.
