Seymour with late 3 as Murray St. downs E. Kentucky 75-71

RICHMOND, Ky. (AP) Justin Seymour hit a late 3-pointer and Murray State held on for a 75-71 win over Eastern Kentucky on Wednesday night.

Murray State trailed 71-70 when Seymour sank a 3-pointer with 22 seconds to play, giving the Racers (11-10, 5-3 Ohio Valley Conference) a 73-71 edge and they held on for the win.

Seymour finished with 12 points for the Racers. Wayne Langston and Damarcus Croaker scored 18 points apiece and Gee McGhee had 11 points. Murray State had a 32-21 rebounding edge over Eastern Kentucky.

Eastern Kentucky had a 12-2 start and Murray State battled back with the help of a flurry of 3-pointers by Seymour, Croaker, Bryce Jones and Jeffery Moss late in the period to take a 39-36 lead at the break. The lead changed hands six times during the second half.

Nick Mayo scored 22 points and Jarelle Reischel had 21 points for the Colonels (12-11, 3-5).
