(STATS) - With the return of the Pioneer Football League's offensive player of the year, Morehead State will try to build on a breakout season this year.

Quarterback Austin Gahafer will be back for his senior season as the Eagles seek title contention in the PFL. They will host six opponents at Jayne Stadium, including four in league play, in an 11-game schedule that was announced Thursday.

This past season, the Eagles finished 7-4 overall - their first winning record since 2007 - and 6-2 in league play as they tied for third place.

They will host VMI (Sept. 10) and Lincoln (Sept. 17) in non-league action and then PFL opponents Valparaiso (Oct. 1), Marist (Oct. 15, Homecoming), Jacksonville (Oct. 22) and Campbell (Nov. 12).

MSU averaged 8,204 fans in five home games in 2015, leading the PFL by more than 4,000.

"I really like how our schedule is set," coach Rob Tenyer said. "There are no back-to-back away games, we host two nonconference games and only have one flight game (Drake)."
