Hamilton leads Louisiana Tech past Texas-San Antonio 85-75

RUSTON, La. (AP) Alex Hamilton had 18 points with 11 assists and Louisiana Tech made 18 of 25 free throws in the second half to turn back Texas-San Antonio 85-75 on Thursday night.

Dayon Griffin added 17 points and Jacobi Boykins had 16 for the Bulldogs (15-5, 4-3 Conference USA), who finished 23 of 32 from the line. Erik McCree had 15 points and Merrill Holden added 10 while the pair combined for 17 rebounds.

Louisiana Tech led 40-34 at the half and made 12 of 20 shots in the second half.

Ryan Bowie led the Roadrunners (4-17, 2-6), who shot 38 percent (27 of 71) with 24 points and 11 rebounds. J.R. Harris had 19 points and Christian Wilson had 17.

Louisiana Tech led by 10 less than five minutes into the game but Harris made back-to-back 3s to help erase most of that before Tech surged ahead again. The lead was 17 with 12 minutes remaining.
