FAIRFIELD, Conn. (AP) Cane Broome hit a step-back 3-pointer with 10 seconds left, and Sacred Heart survived a shot at the final horn to escape with a 72-71 win over Bryant in a crazy finish on Saturday.

Sacred Heart led by five with less than a minute left, but Bryant scored seven points in seven seconds. Hunter Ware nailed a 3-pointer while being fouled, and then made the free throw. Ware then stole it, and drilled another 3 to put Bryant up by two with 27 seconds remaining.

The Pioneers called time, and then set up Broome for his 3. Shane McLaughlin's contested, last-second attempt for Bryant was no good.

Broome finished with 17 points for Sacred Heart (6-15, 5-5 Northeast). Tevin Falzon had 15 points and 13 rebounds, and Sean Hoehn added 14 points.

Bryant (7-16, 4-6 Northeast) was led by Dan Garvin with a career-high 25 points and 14 boards. Ware finished with 19.
