NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. (AP) Isaiah Williams and Ibn Muhammad scored 15 points each and combined to make seven of the team's nine 3-point shots as Iona defeated Manhattan 70-56 on Friday. The rivals have met in the last three Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference championship game.

Williams opened the game with a trey on a feed from Muhammad, sparking a 12-2 run that was capped by a Muhammad 3-pointer on an assist from Williams. Iona (11-9, 8-3) ended a skid in which it dropped three of its last four games and stays just behind Monmouth atop the MAAC.

Manhattan (8-11, 5-3) had won five of its first seven games of 2016, but hadn't played in eight days thanks to disruption from last weekend's massive snowstorm.

Rich Williams led the Jaspers with 15 points, Zane Waterman added 13 and Shane Richards 11. Manhattan shot 36 percent (16 of 45) and made 15 turnovers.
