Loyola of Chicago beats Indiana State 104-96 in double OT

CHICAGO (AP) Montel James scored a career-high 28 points and grabbed 14 rebounds, Devon Turk added 22 and Loyola of Chicago beat Indiana State 104-96 in double overtime on Saturday.

Milton Doyle added 14 for the Ramblers (10-12, 3-7 Missouri Valley), who led 41-34 at halftime after shooting 72 percent in the first half.

James' free throw tied it at 81 at the end of regulation and Earl Peterson tied it at 89 at the end of overtime with a jumper.

Doyle scored two free throws and a jumper and the Ramblers led 93-89 in the second overtime, then James made three free throws for a 96-91 advantage with 58 seconds left.

Brenton Scott's 3 with 50 seconds left pulled the Sycamores within 96-94, but Doyle hit a jumper and two free throws, Turk added two more from the stripe and the Ramblers held on.

Scott scored 28 with six 3-pointers for the Sycamores (12-10, 6-4).
