Jackson State beats Arkansas-Pine Bluff 66-53

PINE BLUFF, Ark. (AP) Chace Franklin scored 14 and Yettra Specks added 13 points to help Jackson State beat Arkansas-Pine Bluff 66-53 Monday night.

Janarius Middleton added 10 points for Jackson State (12-10, 7-2 Southwestern Athletic Conference), which made 23 of 46 field-goal attempts and outrebounded UAPB 37-22. The Tigers, who came in shooting 41 percent from the field this season, have shot at least 50 percent in their last two games.

The Golden Lions (5-18, 3-6) led 10-8 before Jackson State used an 11-1 run to open up a double-digit lead with 12:40 left in the first half.

Marcus Wallace and Ghiavonni Robinson scored 14 apiece for Arkansas-Pine Bluff while JoVaughn Love added 12 points. Robinson hit three 3-pointers.

UAPB made just 17 of 42 (40.5 percent) field goal attempts, including 6 of 20 (30 percent) from 3-point range, and 13 of 24 free throws.
