Four-star CB Kristian Fulton joins star-studded DB class for LSU

Four-star cornerback recruit Kristian Fulton committed to LSU on National Signing Day.

Four-star cornerback Kristian Fulton committed to LSU on Wednesday, joining the Tigers’ highly touted recruiting class.

A 6’0”, 172-pounder, Fulton is ranked as the No. 3 cornerback and No. 34 overall recruit is the class of 2016. He joins five-star Saivion Smith, the No. 2 cornerback in this year’s recruiting class, and four-star safety Eric Monroe in forming a loaded secondary for LSU, a program that prides itself on its defensive backfield talent.

Fulton was also considering Florida and Arkansas and took an official visit to Gainesville this past week, but the Metairie, La., native ultimately settled on the homestate Tigers. He adds to an impressive haul for Les Miles in Louisiana. With Fulton’s pledge, LSU now is poised to add all of the top five players from the Pelican State and 12 of the state’s top 14 prospects.

Fulton made 58 tackles and intercepted six passes this season for Archbishop Rummel High. According to Scout.com, “when you are grading a top cornerback, he has check in most, if not all, the boxes. Has shown the ability to play on and off coverage. Has good short-space quickness at the line of scrimmage. His reaction is good to quick wideouts and his recovery speed is a real strength. Good frame with the ability to play physical. Solid tackler in one-on-one situations. Ball skills are a real plus.”

He becomes the 23rd commitment in LSU’s 2016 class, which currently ranks fifth in the country.
