Four-star running back Vavae Malepeai flipped his commitment from Oregon to USC on Wednesday.

Malepeai is ranked 275th overall among recruits in the class of 2016 and 16th among running backs, according to Scout.com. He had committed to Oregon in June, but reportedly changed his mind after taking an official visit to USC last weekend.

The U.S. Army All-American set the state records for rushing yards and touchdowns in Hawaii with 4,549 yards and 71 touchdowns in 37 games for Mililani High School.

Here is Scout.com’s scouting report on Malepeai:

“Malepeai is one of the top backs in the West region. He's very versatile and is a true every down back that will never need to leave the field. He's a tough, between the tackles runner but has some wiggle and the top end speed to bounce it outside. He shows balance, vision and decisiveness as well as great hands out of the backfield. He's a tough runner who is always falling forward and will break multiple tackles on every run. He seems to get stronger as the game goes on and will be the type of back that will wear down a defense.”

USC now has 16 commitments for its 17th-ranked class of 2016, according to Scout.com.
