Providence's Bentil listed as day-to-day after ankle injury

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) Providence coach Ed Cooley says forward Ben Bentil is day-to-day after sustaining a right ankle injury.

Bentil sat out the 11th-ranked Friars' practice Thursday and will continue to be evaluated as Providence (18-5, 6-4 Big East) prepares to host No. 3 Villanova (19-3, 9-1) on Saturday.

Bentil hurt his ankle in the first half of the Friars' 77-70 loss at DePaul on Tuesday night. The Big East's leading scorer entered the game averaging 20.3 points, but was limited to just 14 minutes against the Blue Demons. He finished with six points and no rebounds.

It is the second ankle injury this season for Bentil. He sprained his left ankle in a Dec. 9 win over Boston College, but was able to play three days later against Bryant.
