New Hampshire edges Binghamton 59-55

BINGHAMTON, N.Y. (AP) Tanner Leissner had 21 points, Jaleen Smith had 16 and they made all the big plays down the stretch to give New Hampshire a 59-55 win over Binghamton on Saturday.

Leissner's two free throws with 1.3 seconds left clinched the game as he and Smith combined for 10 of the last 12 points for the Wildcats (13-9, 6-3 American East).

Marlon Beck II hit a 3-pointer to put Binghamton up 50-47 with 3:45 to play. Smith had six points and Leissner two free throws in an 8-0 run that made it 55-50 with less than a minute to play.

Everson Davis scored four points for the Bearcats before Keon Burns made two free throws for New Hampshire with 8.3 seconds left. Davis was fouled intentionally with four seconds left. He made his first, missed the second but Leissner corralled the rebound and was fouled.

Beck had 16 points and Davis 12 for the Bearcats (5-18, 2-8).
