Tennessee Tech breaks away from Jacksonville State 68-58

JACKSONVILLE, Ala. (AP) Aleksa Jugovic and Torrance Rowe scored 16 points each as Tennessee Tech broke away from a halftime tie to defeat Jacksonville State 68-58 on Saturday for a fourth-straight win.

The Golden Eagles' win streak includes a 10-point, come-from-behind upending of Belmont last weekend that handed the Ohio Valley Conference leader its first conference loss. Tech is a half-game behind in the OVC standings.

Tennessee Tech (17-7, 9-2) broke away from a 32-32 tie when Jugovic opened the second half with a 3-pointer and Rowe followed with eight more points, including a pair of 3s, as the Golden Eagles bolted to a 43-36 lead in three minutes.

Jacksonville State came as close as 46-43 on a Jared Hamilton basket, but couldn't pull ahead as Tech was 20-for-25 at the foul line.

Hamilton scored 16 points to lead the Gamecocks (8-18, 4-7) and Jeremy Watson added 15 with 14 rebounds.
