Farmer had been Louisiana-Monroe's offensive coordinator and offensive line coach this past season, but was moved to tight ends coach by new Warhawks coach Matt Viator.

Farmer had been Louisiana-Monroe's offensive coordinator and offensive line coach the last six years. Before that, he was offensive coordinator at his alma mater, Illinois State, for a season.

He was also an assistant at Louisiana-Monroe from 2004-08. He was the program's offensive line coach throughout his initial tenure and added offensive coordinator responsibilities his final two seasons. He was also the Warhawks' co-offensive coordinator in 2006. He first arrived at Louisiana-Monroe after a season as Eastern Michigan's offensive line coach.

That was after Farmer spent 2001-02 as Eastern Illinois' offensive line coach. He was tight ends coach at Illinois State in 2000 and the program's defensive tackles coach in 1999.

He was a center for the Redbirds from 1997-98 after beginning his playing career at Northeastern Oklahoma A&M.

Utah State had a 6-7 record this past season under Wells. He has a 25-16 mark with the Aggies in three seasons.
