Villanova tops AP poll for first time in program history

Villanova tops the AP Top 25 for the first time in program history as Oklahoma dropped to No. 3.

Villanova is on top of the AP Top 25 for the first time in program history.

The Wildcats moved up after last week's No. 1 in Oklahoma lost to Kansas State 80–69, while No. 2 North Carolina dropped games to Louisville and Notre Dame. Villanova received 32 first-place votes from the 65-member national media panel. Maryland moved up to No. 2 as the Sooners dropped to No. 3.

Notre Dame comes back to knock off No. 2 UNC

Southern Cal (No. 23) and Texas (No. 24) are the latest additions to the Top 25.
