St. Francis Brooklyn stages comeback to top CCSU, 74-67

NEW YORK (AP) Yunus Hopkinson scored 27 points and St. Francis Brooklyn held Central Connecticut State scoreless over the final 2:10 to come away with a 74-67 Northeastern Conference victory Thursday.

The Terriers now have won back-to-back games after knocking off conference-leading Fairleigh Dickinson Saturday.

Central Connecticut State held a 14-point lead at halftime, but the Terriers romped back and took the lead on Tyreek Jewell's 3-pointer with 11:08 to play

Kevin Seymour hit a jumper with 2:10 left to get CCSU within one, 68-67, but the Blue Devils could not get another shot to drop while St. Francis pulled away by hitting 4 of 8 from the free throw line.

Antonio Jenifer scored 22 points and grabbed 15 rebounds for St. Francis (11-15, 7-6).

Brandon Peel scored 23 points on 10 of 16 shooting for CCSU (3-21, 2-11). Seymour added 14 points.
